A boutique hotel and yoga retreat oasis located five minutes outside of the village of Ubud, Bali in Indonesia. They have been dedicated to creating a place of happiness where groups or individuals can come to relax, adventure, deepen their practices, eat great food, play in the sun and get back to being themselves.
All of the people on their amazing team come from nearby villages and will make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
Solar power, no TV in guest rooms, no dishwasher, low watt LED lights
Nazava filter system, dual flush toilets, water comes from the spring, each toilet and shower has it’s own septic system
Recycling, compost pile, all organic food waste is composted and used in the permaculture garden.
We organise an annual benefit concert/festival in Ubud to bring awareness to local NGOs such as Bumi Sehat Natural Birthing Clinic and the Environmental Bamboo Foundation.
Organic products are used in all guests rooms, we do not use any bottled water, we provide free flow drinking water filtered from the spring, there are water dispensers in every room, we give each guest free tote bag to minimise the use of plastic bag for shopping. And we encourage a usage of refillable water bottles.
No MSG, margarine or refined oils are used in cooking and the hotel supplies much of their vegetables for the restaurant from their permaculture garden. Alternatively, other produce is sourced locally where possible to minimise packaging and emissions from transport. Other items are purchased in bulk to minimise packaging. We make everything from scratch, no pre-packaged food (homemade jams, granola, sauces, bread, etc).
“Code of Conduct” for Balinese culture, dress code and basic Indonesian language information are provided in guest bungalows and on the website. We encourage guests to use our gifted tote bags for their shopping to minimise the use of plastic bags. We offer culture dinner which explains how the community works in Bali (Banjar, offerings, family compound, relationship to nature).
The building is respecting the natural landscape and surroundings. We used recycled wood and natural local materials, we have protected 70 are of rice paddies and we have replanted organic rice instead of GMO rice.
