Piet has a long experience in both sustainability and hospitality. He managed his own resort in Fiji which was rated as one of the most romantic in the world. He understood that he needed to focus on one segment of the market and be the best at it.

Piet is an engineer and worked on greening many properties. In the last 6 years, as head of sustainability for the Alila Group, he implemented Earthcheck standards in all properties, coming up with original solutions to reduce the waste, energy and water consumptions of all properties.

Piet is now launching his app – POSITIVE IMPACT FOREVER – which will help individuals measure their impact. He provides tips and tools to calculate your waste, water and energy consumptions so you know how you are doing and of course, once one is aware of his impact, he will tend to reduce it naturally.
